Sept 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (16 imported cases, 5 in Yunnan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shandong province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Liaoning and 1 in Zhejiang; 6 indigenous cases in Harbin, Heilongjiang province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 63 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 672 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,025 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,521 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 504 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,128 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 90,584 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 908 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,198,043 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 27,283 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 7 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 354 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 342 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 28,501 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,214 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,905 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 71 in Macao (63 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,216 in Taiwan (842 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
