Hongqi, the premium arm of China’s FAW Group, is seeing its sales this year to reach 200,000 units, said Hongqi Sales Co President Chen Xu on Tuesday.
That means it took the company three months less than last year to reach the same sales volume despite the ongoing chip shortages and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chen unveiled the sales figures when Hongqi launched the 2022 version of its three models—the HS7 SUV, the HS5 SUV and the H5 sedan.
The HS7 is priced from 275,800 yuan to 459,800 yuan, the HS5, 183,800 yuan to 249,800 yuan, and the H5 sedan, 145,800 yuan to 190,800 yuan.
Among other things, the HS7 now has a new color and some driving-assist functions that were reserved for 3.0-liter variants are now available in 2.0-liter ones.
Compared with its predecessor, the 2022 HS5 has a new grille, and its smart connectivity system has been updated.
The H5 sedan now offers new interior colors, and such functions as keyless entry and touch-free tailgate are available in the 1.5-liter variants.
