Sept 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 31 new cases of confirmed infections (18 imported cases, 11 in Yunnan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Hunan province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Hunan and 1 in Yunnan; 13 indigenous cases, 11 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province and 2 in Xiamen, Fujian province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 61 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 799 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,995 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,477 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 518 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on Sept 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,081 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 90,463 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 982 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,194,626 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 25,183 were still under medical observation.
On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 337 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 327 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 28,461 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,196 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,897 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 67 in Macao (63 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,198 in Taiwan (842 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
