Sensational efficiency achieved by GAC Honda hybrids

GAC Honda announced the record-breaking achievements of its four Sport Hybrid models on Wednesday, showcasing the carmaker’s high efficiency and performance of electric drive hybrid technology.

At the third GAC Honda Challenge, the Sport Hybrid Odyssey MPV, Breeze SUV, Accord and Crider sedans respectively ran 2,216.9 kilometers, 2,321.1 km, 2,470.1km and 2,994.2 km on just 60 liters of gasoline.

The final of the Sport Hybrid Challenge started from Ordos in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, passing Hohhot, then Zhangjiakou and Chengde in Hebei province, Jinzhou in Liaoning province and ended in Dalian, which took seven days and ran for more than 1,700 km.

Honda has been developing hybrid technologies for more than two decades and such products have been sold to 3.5 million users in 65 countries.

Since GAC Honda started to use the i-MMD hybrid system in 2016, it accelerated the popularization of electric-drive hybrid technology.

So far, GAC Honda has sold around 300,000 Sport Hybrid models, with an annual average growth rate of 201 percent.
