Sept 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 73 new cases of confirmed infections (23 imported cases, 13 in Yunnan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Henan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Zhejiang, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Guangdong; 50 indigenous cases in Fujian, 33 in Putian, 12 in Xiamen and 5 in Quanzhou, including 9 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 46 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,011 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,701 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,105 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 596 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 95,413 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 89,940 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 837 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,175,662 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 15,205 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (15 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Xiamen, Fujian). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 13 imported cases) and 13 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 386 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 360 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 28,309 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,148 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,854 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 63 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,098 in Taiwan (839 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
