Sept 14: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 92 new cases of confirmed infections (33 imported cases, 14 in Yunnan province, 8 in Guangdong province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shandong province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Sichuan; 59 indigenous cases in Fujian, 32 in Xiamen, 24 in Putian and 3 in Quanzhou, including 12 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 33 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 605 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,678 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,072 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 606 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, the National Health Commission had received reports of 95,340 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 89,894 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 810 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 1,174,044 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 14,601 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new asymptomatic cases (19 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Putian, Fujian). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 11 imported cases) and 17 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 401 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 362 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 28,302 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,146 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,850 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 63 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,093 in Taiwan (839 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
