Guiyang established a dedicated service center on Sept 6 – the first municipal one in Southwest China's Guizhou province – to provide tech support and services for rural revitalization in Guiyang city and Guian New Area.
The new center comes on the back of Guiyang's earlier establishment of the province's first rural revitalization bureau, rural revitalization strategic research institute and a public welfare development fund management center to promote rural revitalization.
The new service center will survey, promote and implement rural revitalization strategies.
It will undertake and carry out rural development research and administer the agricultural sector's production and business systems, as well as provide various services in relation to rural land.
The service center will also seek to attract and help develop rural business owners, while protecting the rural environment and providing marketing services for agricultural products, as well as building up agricultural brands.
It will also reportedly promote the usage of agricultural machinery in mountainous regions and provide science and technology training to farmers, as well as taking the digital age to the countryside, among other things.
Moving forwards, Guiyang will coordinate its poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, establish provincial rural revitalization demonstration areas and ensure economic development while protecting natural environment.
