Jinan to host intl spring water festival in Sept

The ninth Jinan International Spring Water Festival will be held from Sept 6 to 11 in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, according to a news conference on Aug 31.

This year's event will feature a wide range of activities designed to promote the city's spring water culture and Yellow River culture.

A total of 13 major activities will be launched, including a photograph exhibition, a float parade, a hiking event and a series of cultural performances. A worship ceremony for springs will be held at the Baotu Spring Scenic Area on Sept 6.

The event will also set up four sub-venues in the districts of Shizhong, Zhangqiu, Changqing, and Laiwu that would host a variety of activities related to culture, tourism, entertainment and local delicacies.

Activities at the sub-venues will include fruit-picking, lakeside cycling, floating river lanterns and fishing contests in the countryside.
