The exhibition “Chinese Eastern Railway, the Revolutionary Transport Line” was released online recently to celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. It is hosted by the Memorial of Northeast China Revolutionary Martyrs, and co-organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee and Heilongjiang Provincial Cultural and Tourism Office.
Composed of three parts, the online exhibition displays more than 150 photos, three charts and three installations. It focuses on a transportation network with the Chinese Eastern Railway as the arterial line that linked China and the Soviet Union and played a crucial function for the spread of Marxism in China and the establishment of the CPC at the turn of the 20th century. Having been ridden by numerous revolutionaries, this route has facilitated the connection between the CPC and the the Communist International (1919-43), and witnessed their great contributions and sacrifices to realize Communism.
To improve the online visiting experience, the exhibition employs up-to-date digital photography, 3D modeling and Virtual Reality technologies. It also provides narration throughout the online tour, and engages users with interactive features such as commenting and sharing.
