Pairs of Chinese twins who have taken the country's national college entrance exam, or gaokao, will enter the universities in the upcoming semester. Here are some twins who will go to the same universities.
Wang Guyan and Wang Guxin, twin brothers from the No 1 High School of Linqu county in Shandong province, were accepted into Peking University this year.
The elder brother, Wang Guyan, was accepted by the environmental science major within the school of urban and environmental engineering. The younger brother, Wang Guxin, was accepted by life science major.
The twins like reading. "Our father guided us in reading ancient poems and literature since childhood," said the twins, "hence we have great interest in books of this kind."
"Guyan has long aspired to protect the environment, he even received a national-level award in environmental protection during middle school," said the twins' father, Wang Xiaoqing, when talking about their choices of major.
"Guxin loved animals since a young age and made it his goal to explore relationship between life science and philosophy of life," he said.
Chen Shiyi, Chen Huiyi, and Chen Fenyi are triplet sisters hailing from Wenchang, Hainan province.
They all received admission letters from Hainan University this summer and they will be majoring in Japanese language, landscape architecture, and environmental science, respectively.
The three sisters made a promise long before the entrance exam. They all chose Hainan University as their first choice when filling out the application forms.
This was their shared dream as well as their parents' wish.
Zhao Zicheng and Zhao Zihui, twin brothers from Nantong, Jiangsu province, were both admitted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University this year.
Both of the twins developed an interest in math and science after entering school.
"Sometimes, we would fight about who's solution to problems are better," said the twins, "Both of us learned a lot during those interactions."
They participated in academic competitions together and even obtained the titles of merit students at the same time.
Their days of studying and working hard together are filled with joy and fulfillment.
Zhu Qichao and Cheng Qiyue are twins who were admitted to the Suzhou campus of Renmin University of China.
The two sisters from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, studied in the same class and school since childhood. The teachers often mistook their identities.
Even though they have never scored the same points on exams during their three years in high school, a fateful exception occurred during the college entrance exam this year.
He Yuanyu and He Shaoxuan, from Chengdu, Sichuan province, both scored 682 points during this year's gaokao.
They were both admitted by Zhejiang University.
"When I am feeling down and wanting to give up, I know there will always be a person who is willing to help me without reservation," said the younger brother He Shaoxuan.
"I know he wishes to see me pull myself together and rise up once again," he said, reminiscing on the exam preparation days.
Ru Jingwen and Ru Jingyuan are twins from Luohe, Henan province.
These two sisters scored 613 and 605 points during gaokao and were accepted into the school of life science of the Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University.
They both love traditional culture very much and are skilled at calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting.
Apart from study, the two would often discuss writing and drawing techniques.
