Sept 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 28 new cases of confirmed infections (27 imported cases, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Yunnan province, 4 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Henan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Zhejiang, 2 in Guangdong and 1 in Henan; 1 indigenous case in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture in Yunnan), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 55 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,770 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,422 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 7,801 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 621 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 94,982 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 89,438 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 908 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,165,817 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 15,772 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 24 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 22 imported cases) and 7 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 424 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 371 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 28,187 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,112 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,798 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 63 in Macao (60 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,012 in Taiwan (837 had died and 13,728 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
