September 1, move-in day for Peking University, saw the Class of 2025 arrive on campus, kicking off the new academic year. Among the buzz and excitement, the incoming students got registered with their schools and colleges at PKU's Khoo Teck Puat Sports Complex.
PKU Council Chair Qiu Shuiping and PKU President Hao Ping were on the scene, expressing their warm welcomes to the newest batch of Pekingers.
"It's a very fresh and amazing experience," said Teng Rong, a first-year student from the School of Physics. "I do feel like the campus is a combination of natural scenery and Chinese culture."
For the upcoming semester, Rong said that she's looking forward to experiencing all kinds of club activities. "I'm quite interested in hip-hop and dance, as the FL Crew club have an excellent reputation. But I also want to try something I've never experienced before," she said.
Speaking about the enrollment service and protection measures against the pandemic, Xie Kaihuai, from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, said that the service was very careful and excellent in all respects. "You can find volunteers everywhere, so you won't get lost. The workflow is quite efficient and the protection measures are great."
Seniors and working staff from various departments were there to provide a reliable service for all the newcomers, making them feel at home.
Aside from bubbly mascots greeting the newbies, live performances were also held.
