Plenary session plots path for provincial development in Jilin

The Ninth Plenary Session of the 11th Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China opened in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, on July 28, according to local media reports.

The plenary session underlined the efforts in ecological construction across the province, putting forward the main goals, basic principles and key tasks for accelerating the construction of a province with ecological strength.

Efforts will be made to develop a higher-quality economic ecosystem and a high-level environmental protection system.

Jilin will promote pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and accelerate the adjustment of industrial structure, energy structure, transportation structure, and land use structure, as well as promote the integrated protection and restoration of mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes, and deserts.

According to the plenary session, Jilin will build the circum-Changchun, Siping, Liaoyuan, Jilin and Songyuan Industrial Corridor, and the Changchun, Liaoyuan, Meihekou, Tonghua, Baishan and Yanbian Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Corridor.

The province will build the Tumen River Development and Opening Economic Belt, and the Central and Western Food Security Industrial Belt.

It will develop a national innovation and entrepreneurship base in Changchun as well as a national clean energy base.
