Three Yantai counties make China's top 100 list

Three counties in Yantai – Longkou, Zhaoyuan, and Laizhou – were included on a list of China's top 100 counties in 2021, according to the report released by CCID Consulting on Aug 4.
The list was made based on 24 indicators, including economic strength, growth potential, and green development.
According to this year's list, 13 counties in Shandong province were included in China's top 100 counties. Longkou ranked 10th, Zhaoyuan was 53rd and Laizhou was 59th. Longkou topped Shandong's counties on the list.
Longkou has seven main industries, including high-end aluminum materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, and food processing. Longkou fensi, a type of vermicelli made from bean starch, is a specialty popular in Yantai and throughout China. It has also been exported overseas.
