Freight train service between China and Europe has maintained steady operations to ensure the stability of international supply chains amid COVID-19, China State Railway Group said on Friday.
According to the group, 1,352 trips were operated last month, transporting 131,000 containers. It was the third month operating more than 1,300 such services since May. It was also the 15th month to operate more than 1,000 services since May last year.
The train service has assisted with international cooperation against COVID-19. Last month, 215,000 pieces of anti-pandemic supplies were carried by the service, the group said.
A heavy rainstorm hit central China's Henan province last month, one of the main transfer hubs of the China-Europe freight train services. The railway operator paid close attention to the trains' precise locations when they passed the area and adjusted routes accordingly. More than 50 services were diverted, the group said.
