Suzhou New District discusses plans for new science city's construction

Suzhou New District recently held a discussion about the Taihu Science City construction plan, covering the areas of strategic development, functions, and overall layout.

Spanning a planned area of 10 square kilometers, Taihu Science City will make use of the scientific and ecological capabilities of Suzhou Science and Technology Town (Dongzhu sub-district), an Ecotourism Resort in western Suzhou (Zhenhu sub-district), and Dong'an town.

According to the plan, Taihu Science City will be built into an innovative hub for leading industries to attract world-class research institutes and global talents. It will also provide scientific and educational resources, facilities, as well as platforms for talents. Moreover, it will help improve Suzhou's core competitiveness.

Following Suzhou's economic development plan during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the science city is expected to become a center for scientific and technological innovation, national technology innovation, as well as industrial achievements transformation.
