Aug 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 111 new cases of confirmed infections (28 imported cases, 12 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shandong province; 83 indigenous cases, 54 in Jiangsu province, 14 in Hubei province, 7 in Henan province, 5 in Hunan province, 2 in Yunnan and 1 in Beijing municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 24 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,496 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 6.

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,737 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 7,008 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 729 confirmed cases (including 15 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 94,080 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,655 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,789 confirmed cases (including 60 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,135,904 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 50,808 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 30 new asymptomatic cases (23 imported cases; 7 indigenous cases, 5 in Hubei and 2 in Henan). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 19 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 498 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 392 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 27,880 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,019 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,728 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 63 in Macao (57 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,798 in Taiwan (814 had died and 13,103 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
