My beautiful encounter with China

It happened almost a couple of years ago. I flew to China for my master's degree in Automation Engineering. I was unaware of the new environment I encountered with. It was a pleasant surprise to know about the willingness of Chinese people to help foreign nationals, even not having a common language but the language of humanity, love, and care. I'd like to mention that not only adults are eager to help foreigners but also the kids. It's been the second year of beautiful encounters with the wonderland of China. I have been learning the Chinese language as it was my first goal to achieve, although, it's not an easy task, I may never stop learning. Thanks to our Chinese language teachers and Chinese friends who assist us to speak this beautiful melodic language.

My friend circle is not limited to my contemporaries but it encircled all ages from kids to senior citizens. On weekends, I and my Chinese friends spend time together to enjoy the hustle-bustle of city life. In this way, I not only practice my Chinese language but also, it helps me to know the Chinese culture and values in their true manner by spending time with them. Interestingly, Chinese people seem shy but the fact is they are open to talk with foreigners but language barriers limit this beautiful interaction.

I have been to several cities and tourist attractions in China, such as (Huangshan, Sanhe Ancient Town, Anhui hongcun ancient village, the "Spring City" Jinan, and Nanjing). How well the Chinese government maintained national culture and natural beauty, which reflects the love for their motherland and rich cultural values. Besides, the Chinese government doing its best to uplift the living standards of their people. The country offers enough opportunities to learn and polish your professional skills to chase your dreams.

Chinese students are very enthusiastic about modern education. Hardworking nations always chase their national goals and conquer the world. I would like to underline the technological development of China. This beautiful country gives an opportunity to conduct research in modern laboratories, to have an access to global libraries, to get supervision and guidance from brilliant minds. China creates an environment where you can study but can do more than you expect.

One of the best decisions in my life is to choose China for higher education which not only provides quality education and better living standards and exposure to the latest technology.

My name is Muhammad Usman and my home country is Pakistan. I am studying Master's degree in Automation & Control Engineering at the University of Science & Technology China. It's my second year here in China. My research work is about the autonomous robots. Currently, I am working on ROS (Robot Operating System) and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), especially on the autonomous drone in an open environment.
