Sheshan resort promotes summer carnival to YRD visitors

The Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort has extended a welcome to the visitors from the Yangtze River Delta region to experience its summer carnival through recent promotional events.

During this year's carnival, popular tourist attractions at the resort will roll out special offers and hold activities such as musical performances, parent-child activities, sporting events and food festivals.

Many of the activities are tailored for summer travel. They include evening parties on the water to escape the summer heat, and summer flower shows that showcase the beauty of the season.

Last year's Shanghai Happy Valley EV Electronic Music Festival was named one of the 15 most popular events in 2020 based on an online vote by Shanghai residents, according to the local culture and tourism bureau.

The Sheshan resort, known as the "backyard garden of Shanghai", is home to a number of popular spots including Shanghai Happy Valley, Chenshan Botanical Garden, Shanghai Shimao Dream City and the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park.

Covering an area of 64.08 square kilometers, it is located in the northwestern Songjiang district, which is 30.4 km from downtown Shanghai.
