South China's island province Hainan recently unveiled its 14th five-year plan (2021-25) for tourism, culture, radio, television and sports industries and it eyes to host 110 million visits by 2025.
According to the plan, Hainan will seek to achieve a tourism revenue of 180 billion yuan ($27.8 billion), and strive to make phased headways in the construction of an international tourism consumption center, a culturally strong province, smart radio and television industries, and a national sports tourism demonstration zone.
Tourism, culture, radio, television and sports industries will become powerful forces to promote Hainan's economic and social development and support Hainan's participation in international competition as well as the construction of Hainan's Free Trade Port.
The island province plans to develop as a headquarters in the international industrial economy by building international industrial headquarters bases in Haikou and Sanya and introduce global leading companies and service providers for the entire industry chain. It will also build a fashion consumption headquarters base and introduce world-renowned fashion companies and high-end consumer product brands in Haikou and Sanya.
Hainan will boost nightlife space, introduce night performances in Haikou, Sanya, Danzhou and other places, promote nighttime scenery upgrades at Haikou's Qilou Old Street, Sanya Central Business District and Haihua Island in Danzhou.
