July 31: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 55 new cases of confirmed infections (25 imported cases, 9 in Yunnan province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province; 30 indigenous cases, 19 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Hunan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Sichuan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 565 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,410 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,738 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 672 confirmed cases (including 17 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,930 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,323 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 971 confirmed cases (including 26 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,087,011 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 18,395 were still under medical observation.

On July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (7 imported cases; 12 indigenous cases, 10 in Hunan and 2 in Fujian). 12 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on July 30, 423 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 390 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 30, 27,705 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,984 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,712 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 59 in Macao (54 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,662 in Taiwan (787 had died and 12,817 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
