Per capita disposable income of Hechi residents maintains rapid growth

The per capita disposable income of Hechi urban and rural residents maintained a rapid growth in the first half of this year, and the growth rate was at the forefront of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, according to a Hechi survey data press conference in Hechi city on July 28.

In the first half of this year, the per capita disposable income of Hechi's urban residents was 16,993 yuan ($2,631), a nominal increase of 12.7 percent, ranking second in Guangxi, with an actual growth rate of 11.3 percent after deducting price factors. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 5,895 yuan, a nominal increase of 15.7 percent, ranking first in the region, and the actual growth rate was 14.2 percent after deducting price factors. The gap between urban and rural residents' per capita disposable income was further narrowed.

The increase of wage incomes is the main factor that has driven the rapid growth of Hechi residents' per capita disposable income. The city has properly prevented and controlled the COVID-19 virus in 2021, showing stable economic operations and stable employment. The net operating income also contributed to the growth, and the secondary and tertiary industries are operating normally, thus promoting the increase in per capita disposable income and quality of life of residents.

The press conference also released survey data on consumer prices and animal husbandry in the first half of 2021. The consumer prices in Hechi have generally stabilized, with a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent, and the growth rate has narrowed by 2.3 percent compared with the previous year. The city's animal husbandry production is generally improving, and the stock of various livestock and poultry varieties has basically shown a steady growth trend.
