July 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 64 new cases of confirmed infections (43 imported cases, 21 in Yunnan province, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 21 indigenous cases, 18 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Hunan province and 1 in Beijing municipality), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 19 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 572 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,385 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,725 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 660 confirmed cases (including 17 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,875 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,307 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 932 confirmed cases (including 25 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,084,620 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 16,569 were still under medical observation.

On July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 25 new asymptomatic cases (17 imported cases; 8 indigenous cases, 4 in Jiangsu and 4 in Hunan). 15 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on July 29, 419 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 396 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 29, 27,678 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,982 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,709 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 59 in Macao (54 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,637 in Taiwan (787 had died and 12,801 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
