Northeastern Beijing's Miyun district has rolled out 15 routes for travelers in a culture and tourism season promotion that began on July 28.
The routes feature leisure, hiking, water attractions, folk customs, revolutionary history and fruit picking and aim to present a poetic and picturesque Miyun to the public.
The promotion is hosted by the Miyun culture and tourism authority and will last through the end of October.
Local scenic spot ticket discounts and preferential tourism packages with favorable hotel and homestay rates will be available in the season.
Miyun signed strategic agreements with related businesses, including the Trip.com Group and the China Oriental Performance Arts Group to support its tourism season.
The promotion is part of the local government's efforts to implement President Xi Jinping's call for continued efforts to preserve the Miyun Reservoir, the major source of drinking water for Beijing, and fully advance the building of an ecological civilization.
