Production of a highlighted film on the evacuation of Chinese nationals from overseas was announced in Beijing on Monday.
Home Operation is inspired by the true stories of evacuation from the Yemen war zone in 2015. It will become the first film of its kind to comprehensively unveil Chinese diplomats' effort to rescue Chinese nationals overseas through evacuation.
The realistic film follows Chinese diplomats' perspectives, to show how decision-makers from various departments jointly organized the action, reflecting the country's responsibility and international humanitarianism. More than 600 Chinese nationals were evacuated through the action, in which 279 foreign nationals also were taken to safety.
Li Zhaoxing, former minister of Foreign Affairs, is a counselor for the new film, and Jackie Chan will be its executive producer. Liu Ye will be the lead actor on the film.
