July 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 86 new cases of confirmed infections (31 imported cases, 16 in Yunnan province, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Gansu province; 55 indigenous cases, 48 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Sichuan, 2 in Liaoning province and 2 in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 19 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 800 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,317 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,690 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 627 confirmed cases (including 18 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,762 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,264 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 862 confirmed cases (including 22 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,078,888 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,794 were still under medical observation.

On July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (17 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Jiangsu). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 12 imported cases) and 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 27, 426 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 411 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 27, 27,637 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,979 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,705 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 59 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,599 in Taiwan (787 had died and 12,664 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
