The Fantawild Oriental Heritage Amusement Park – located in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province – opened to the public with great fanfare on July 23.
It's the first large-scale cultural high-tech amusement park in Taiyuan, with an area of nearly 400,000 square meters, a total investment of over 3 billion yuan ($462.77 million) and a design annual tourist reception capacity of over 3 million.
The park contains 11 large-scale indoor high-tech theme projects, 32 outdoor amusement projects, as well as restaurants and shops. It is fully covered by a 5G network, which can allow over 20,000 people to access their smart phones at the same time.
With its theme of Chinese history and culture, the park combines modern technologies – such as panoramic augmented reality and four-dimensional dynamic special effects – with real-life performances. It also stages traditional cultural shows such as the Jinyang drum dance and martial arts.
These activities aim to immerse visitors in the charms of traditional Chinese culture and expose them to the excitement of modern technology.
During the summer vacation, the business hours of the park will be extended to 9:30 pm, with thrilling night performances, grand lights shows and fireworks staged regularly, according to the park's operator.
