July 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 76 new cases of confirmed infections (36 imported cases, 18 in Yunnan province, 8 in Guangdong province, 5 in Fujian province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Henan province and 1 in Beijing municipality; 40 indigenous cases, 39 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Liaoning province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 27 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 688 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on July 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,246 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,654 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 592 confirmed cases (including 15 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,605 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,228 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 741 confirmed cases (including 17 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,075,952 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 9,990 were still under medical observation.

On July 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (20 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 1 in Jiangsu, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan province). 12 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 13 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 25, 436 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 411 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 25, 27,608 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,978 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,698 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 59 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,571 in Taiwan (786 had died and 12,555 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
