The pilot study base of Wuxi Zhongke Dexin Photoelectric Sensing Technology Research Institute started operation on July 21.
The pilot study base will realize the commissioning and connection of material growth equipment and purchased process equipment, as well as form a number of research and development and engineering teams in the fields of optoelectronic materials and devices.
Wuxi Zhongke Dexin Photoelectric Sensing Technology Research Institute will work towards the research, development, and commercializations of optoelectronic materials and apparatuses. It was sponsored by the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, which is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The institute has made important contributions to the country's major scientific and technological advances by leading in the field of infrared photoelectricity, a vital technology used for both military and civilian purposes.
Ding Lei, head of the institute, said that Wuxi enjoys a solid industrial foundation and a favorable development environment perfect for the incubation, as well as transformation of new technological results.
During the launch ceremony, Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang said that through joint efforts between the local government and the institute, more innovation achievements are expected to be made in Wuxi.
In 2020, then Wuxi Mayor Du visited the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics and proposed to jointly build the Wuxi institute into an innovative hub in the field of optoelectronic technology, as well as a model in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
