Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Spot
Located in the courtyard of the ancient Ci’en Temple in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is also called the Ci’en Pagoda. It was initiated in the year 652, by monk Xuanzang (602-64), to preserve the Buddhist statues and scriptures he had collected during his pilgrimage in ancient India. Originally having five stories, it went through several renovations and today it can be found with of seven stories. It stands at 64.7 meters tall and covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters.

The pagoda is considered to boast the longest history and be of the grandest scale among the existing quadrangle-sectioned multi-storeypagodasof the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It has witnessed the great combination of ancient Indian and Chinese culture, reflecting the diligence and wisdom of the people.

In 1961 it became one of the first national foremost protected cultural heritage sites, and was added to the world heritage list in 2014 as a major component in Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor.

Dynasty Paradise Scenic Spot
Completed in 2004 and located to the southeast of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, the garden was built to the north of the original site and is based on the layout of the imperial gardens of the Tang Dynasty. It is the first themed park to comprehensively highlight the glorious charms of the dynasty in China, covering an area of 66.67 hectares, of which 30 percent are waters.

Home to 14 cultural landscapes, the park depicts a panorama of the Tang culture, including those of the imperial court, women, poetry, imperial examination systems, tea, theatrical art, food, folk customs, diplomacy, and religion. It features a dozen major attractions built in the style of that time, including the Ziyun Building, Tang Market, Fanglin Garden, Cornel Terrace, Peach Blossom Dock and Luyu Teahouse.

The Tang Paradise was named a top-level national scenic spot in 2011.
