On July 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 50 new cases of confirmed infections (38 imported cases, 21 in Yunnan province, 7 in Guangdong province, 5 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Hunan province; 12 indigenous cases, 11 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 14 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 317 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on July 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,125 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,580 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 545 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on July 21, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,414 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,140 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 638 confirmed cases (including 16 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,072,384 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,577 were still under medical observation.
On July 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (11 imported cases; 7 indigenous cases in Jiangsu). 7 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 8 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 21, 456 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 441 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 21, 27,504 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,970 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,688 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 56 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,478 in Taiwan (778 had died and 12,382 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
