Suzhou sci-tech town's commercial service industry rises

The commercial service sector in Suzhou Science and Technology Town, Suzhou New District saw a 159.1 percent year-on-year increase in the first half year, ranking first in growth rate in SND.

The total operating income of the town's commercial service sector reached 4.61 billion yuan ($710.77 million). Its three core sectors, namely information service, leasing and business service, as well as scientific research and technical service, collectively had a total operating income of 4.31 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 166.7 percent and accounting for 93 percent of the sector's total in the town.

Separately, the town's information service sector achieved 3.13 billion yuan in income, surging 489.2 percent year-on-year. Its leasing and business services sector made 440 million yuan, growing 10.9 percent year-on-year. Its scientific research and technical service sector realized an operating income of 740 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent.

In recent years, Suzhou Science and Technology Town has made great achievements in its producer services sector as it has been enhancing the integrative development of modern services and advanced manufacturing. For instance, Jiangsu Medpark was designated a provincial demonstration zone for a producer services cluster, while Suzhou Joyme Technology was the only company in SND to be awarded as a provincial internet "platform company".
