July 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 31 new cases of confirmed infections (26 imported cases, 8 in Guangdong province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province, and 1 in Gansu province; 5 indigenous cases in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 381 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,010 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,520 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 490 confirmed cases (including 10 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,277 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,076 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 565 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 1,070,048 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,643 were still under medical observation.

On July 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 4 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 18, 448 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 443 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 18, 27,421 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,958 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,682 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,408 in Taiwan (768 had died and 12,243 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
