A total of seven Wuxi-based enterprises made the list of the top 500 listed companies in China by market value in the first half of 2021, according to a report from the 21st Century Business Herald.
The top 500 Chinese companies made the total market value of 98.78 trillion yuan ($15.27 trillion) in the first six months of 2021, an increase of about six percent from the beginning of the year and accounting for 66.48 percent of the total market value of all Chinese companies.
East China's Jiangsu province is headquartered to 24 companies on the list, among which two Wuxi-based pharmaceutical and biological enterprises took the top two spots -- WuXi Biologics and WuXi AppTec.
With a value of 501.7 billion yuan, WuXi Biologics had the highest market value among all Jiangsu listed companies and ranked 30th on the overall list.
The other five Wuxi-based enterprises that made the list are Maxscend Microelectronics Co, China Resources Microelectronics Limited, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co, Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology Co, and Wuxi Shangji CNC Co.
Tencent, Alibaba, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company were the top three companies on the list, according to the report.
