July 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 28 new cases of confirmed infections (23 imported cases, 12 in Guangdong province, 7 in Yunnan province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 5 indigenous cases in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 23 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 470 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on July 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,888 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,450 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 438 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,147 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,005 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 506 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,068,164 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,378 were still under medical observation.
On July 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 20 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on July 14, 451 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 445 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 14, 27,338 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,955 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,669 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,328 in Taiwan (753 had died and 11,964 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
