A new book on a key collection of ancient Chinese garments was released on Tuesday at the Cultural and Historical Museum of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing.
The book, Yun Chang Hua Yi (Fairy-like Clothes, Exquisite Rituals), which was published by The Forbidden City Publishing House, includes a detailed introduction and research articles on 60 garments from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), which were owned by the royal family or aristocrats, and 110 decorative embroidery patterns in typical Beijing style.
The author of this book, Bi Hong, is a Beijing-based fashion designer and private collector who focuses on ancient garments, and who has collected all the garments in the book.
