The Institute of the Yellow River National Culture Park, jointly established by the publicity department of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and Lanzhou University, was officially inaugurated on July 12.
The institute will provide intellectual and academic support for the high-quality development of the Yellow River basin.
Sha Yongzhong, vice president of Lanzhou University, said that the institute will explore the cultural resources of the Yellow River, and serve national cultural development using scientific research results.
Eight areas are to be prioritized by the institute, including think tank construction, civilization exploration, cultural communication, applied research, basic research, academic publishing, discipline construction and talent training.
The institute will also promote various cultural exchanges between the Yellow River basin and the countries along the Belt and Road, and help Yellow River culture go global.
