DeltaHealth opens new clinic in Shanghai

DeltaHealth, an international, high-end medical institution in Shanghai, officially opened its Hongqiao clinic in Changning district on Thursday. It relocated from a previous site to further expand its scope to better provide healthcare service to both local and expat residents in the city, as well as the Yangtze River Delta region.

The new clinic, located in the core Gubei community, offers nearly 20 departments, including cardiology, which the medical institution is famous for, as well as general medicine, endocrinology, gynecology and pediatrics, gastroenterology, and rehabilitation.

The hospital said it selected the new site as it observed the diversified medical needs of Chinese and expat families and business clients in this community. In Changning district, there are more than 80,000 registered expat residents. The district is also home to 6,600 foreign enterprises, including 70 regional headquarters of multinational companies.

The new clinic provides medical service in Mandarin, English, Korean and Japanese.

David Hoidal, CEO of DeltaHealth, said that as a clinical strategic partner of Columbia University's Heart Center in China, the medical institution has been sticking to providing comprehensive medical service at an international standard to residents from East China and beyond.

The medical institution said the previous site had operated for nine years and had served an accumulated 90,000 client visits.

Scottie Mayabb, an expat teacher working at an international school nearby, said a regular physical examination at DeltaHealth late last year found problems with his kidneys. He said throughout the process from diagnosis to recovery, he received extensive care and encouragement from the medical team at the hospital.

"My colleagues were amazed to see me back at work and looking good after they knew what I had been facing. I owe so much of my recovery and success at feeling better and better to this wonderful clinic," he said.

In addition to providing high-quality, patient-centric medical service with top-notch diagnosis and treatment technology, the new clinic emphasized that it also features a modern and comfortable environment.

The design of the new DeltaHealth Clinic replaces harsh angles and extended straight lines with smooth and soft curves, which removed the grimness and anxiety in the space. Also, the warm color panel and warm-light lamps render patients a sense of comfort.
