On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 26 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Guangdong province; 7 indigenous cases in Yunnan), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,025 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,785 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,368 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 417 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,015 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,918 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 461 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,065,872 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,689 were still under medical observation.
On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (13 imported cases, 3 indigenous cases in Yunnan). 15 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 9, 480 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 471 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 9, 27,189 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,949 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,648 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,185 in Taiwan (730 had died and 11,536 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
