SAIC Motor's premium smart vehicle brand IM is showcasing its latest products at the ongoing World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai.
Its electric sedan L7, electric SUV LS7 as well as its chassis, battery pack and lidar solutions are catching the eyes of visitors at the top annual event in the field of artificial intelligence.
IM is demonstrating its 2.5-generation solid-state lidar system, which can be installed in the L7 sedan.
Its latest-generation battery pack is another highlight of the IM booth. One feature of the battery pack is that it will not catch fire.
Liu Tao, co-CEO of IM, said the brand is dedicated to delivering easier and better mobility experience for customers.
"As a user-oriented company, our goal is very clear: to build vehicles that are infinitely close to Level 3 functions," said Liu.
IM has started to take orders since April 2021 for its vehicles, which will be delivered in 2022. IM is built by SAIC, Alibaba and Shanghai's Zhangjiang hi-tech development zone.
