Two new tourist resorts recently obtained official approval from the Jiangsu Provincial Government to be built in Wuxi.
According to plans, the Wuxi Cuiping Mountain Tourist Resort in Xishan district will cover an area of about 16 square kilometers. It will extend from Xidong Avenue in the east to Xihu Road-Jiaoxi Road-Jiaoyang Middle Road-Jin'an Road-Anguo Road in the south, Yadangxu in the west, and Shuangjing River in the north.
The tourism resort will be built at an ideal location, allowing visitors to admire views of mountains and lakes while enjoying mountain sports and countryside living.
Officials said that the tourism resort is expected to receive 1.5 million visitors per year by 2025, among which 600,000 may choose to stay overnight.
Meanwhile, the Wuxi Hongshan Tourist Resort will be built in Xinwu district and has a planned area of 17.25 square kilometers. It will extend from Xigan Road in the north to Wangyu River in the south, Zhenxing Road in the west, and Caohu Lake in the east.
The resort will feature cultural venues, flower and agricultural farms, and wetland parks. It is expected to attract about 1.8 million visitors annually.
Wang Jieping, director of the local tourism industry association, said that the two new resorts are expected to be highlights of cultural tourism development in Wuxi during the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
