Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute signed agreements with the University of Liverpool and Brunel University London on June 23 to expand cooperation in fields like technological innovation, health care, and low-carbon development.
Caroline Elizabeth Wilson, the United Kingdom's ambassador to China, said that with the increased cooperation between universities and research institutes, both Jiangsu province and the UK can better work together to tackle global challenges.
The five-year cooperation agreement with the University of Liverpool aims at further exploring cooperative opportunities in industrial technological research and development, implementing applied projects, as well as enhancing technological innovation and R&D abilities.
The institute's agreement on joint doctoral training with Brunel University London focuses on research projects with advanced technology, strong applicability, and broad application prospects. It also aims to cultivate leading talents in scientific and technological innovation, as well as entrepreneurship.
Scholars and professionals from more than 10 universities and research institutes, including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and the Welding Institute, discussed how to deepen cooperation on sci-tech innovation, as well as green and low-carbon development at the roundtable forum that followed the agreement signings.
