Located in the easternmost part of Jiangsu province, Yuantuojiao Resort is on the path of becoming a State-level tourist resort by integrating coastal resources, cultural tourism, community revitalization, and ecological harmony.
Development through the years
Back in 2013, Yuantuojiao was a barren muddy land that was waiting to be developed into an ecological tourism destination at the estuary of the Yangtze River.
Lianxinggang in Yuantuojiao Resort was packed with more than 1,500 migrant ship workers, 20,000 square meters of illegal construction on the river bank, and more than 300 abandoned boats in the harbor blocking the channel.
After two years of development, Lianxinggang was turned into Fisherman's Wharf, a modern block with tourism and catering as its main business drivers. It also boasts sightseeing, shopping, and cultural creativity facilities, as well as business offices.
Another major development in Yuantuojiao Resort was Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area, which consists of an 800-hectare sea and a 1.5-km-long beach. It attracted 2 million visitors in 2016 when it officially opened to the public.
The 12-km-long Jianghai Culture Viewing Avenue was built to highlight the tourist attractions along the river, the sea, and the harbor in Yuantuojiao Resort.
