Northeast China's Jilin province is set to further promote its planting industry, according to local media reports.
The province, one of the core grain producing bases in China, ranks eighth domestically in terms of its sown area of grain, and fifth in terms of grain output.
In 2020, the province's total grain output reached 38.03 billion kilograms. Jilin's total grain output has been stabilized at more than 35 billion kilograms for eight consecutive years.
The total grain output of the current year is expected to reach more than 38 billion kilograms.
This year, driven by both policy and an increase in grain prices, farmers have become more enthusiastic about planting grain, and the sown area has increased by about 500,000 mu (33,333 hectares) compared with last year.
