Under the baton of conductor Yu Feng, students and teachers from orchestras and choruses of Chinese universities, including the symphony orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music, Peking University, Tsinghua University and the Central Academy of Drama, performed in a concert held at the concert hall of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing on June 27.
The concert, featuring classic Chinese songs, such as The Yellow River Cantata, Sing A Song for the Party and Ode to the Red Flag, celebrates the 100th birthday of the Communist Party of China. It also closed the monthlong online music educational program, which involves telling the history of the CPC through works of music. On June 30, the concert will be streamed online.
Since May 23, over 11 Chinese universities have joined in the online event with about 300 performances streamed online, attracting over 200 million views.
