The Supermarket of Images is an exhibition that addresses the overproduction of images as a new form of economy and its influence on the daily lives of people.
On show at the Red Brick Art Museum until Aug 1, the exhibition is chiefly curated by Peter Szendy, a professor at Brown University, and displays more than 50 works using combinations of different media such as paintings, sculptures, videos, installations and photos.
The exhibition seeks to engage the audience in a dialogue about the use of images in a highly commercial age and the potential risk in terms of cyberbullying and personal information leaks.
