June 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 21 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,978 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,561 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,171 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 390 confirmed cases (including 11 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on June 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,753 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,655 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 462 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,057,634 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 16,499 were still under medical observation.
On June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 27, 481 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 465 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 27, 26,605 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,917 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,625 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 54 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 14,634 in Taiwan (632 had died and 9,916 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
