Precious gems on show at Shanghai jewelry exhibition

Fifty-two designer jewelry brands attended the GAC Independent Jewelry Designer Exhibition which kicked off on June 24 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

The exhibition is part of the four-day Jewelry Shanghai 2021 which started on the same day.

Organized by institutions including the Gems and Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC), the National Gemstone Testing Center and the Shanghai Diamond Exchange, the exhibition features more than 800 exhibitors that took up over 1,000 booths.

Apart from the designer brand section, the pearl exhibition zone is another highlight of the Jewelry Shanghai event. Here, over 80 jewelry enterprises have set up 120 booths to showcase items ranging from Tahiti pearls to golden and white pearls from Southeast Asia to freshwater kinds.

As customized jewelry has been growing in popularity among consumers, the event has introduced a section featuring 10 enterprises that specialize in making colored gems.
