Hechi signs cooperation agreement on smart city construction with Huawei

The city of Hechi and Huawei Technologies held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on June 22.  Wang Jun, mayor of Hechi, and Zhao Rui, general manager of Huawei Technologies Guangxi, attended the signing ceremony and held discussions.

The partnership will accelerate the development of technology in Hechi, improve the city's intelligent level, and help to boost economic and social development as well as quality of life in the city.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out strategic cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, industrial upgrading, smart city, machine vision, digital energy, photovoltaic energy storage, and rural revitalization, among other areas.

After welcoming the delegation led by the mayor to Huawei's Guangxi headquarters, Zhao said that through the partnership, Huawei will strengthen exchange and cooperation with Hechi in smart city construction and promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the city.

"Hechi is working to step up development, transformation and upgrading. We hope to further strengthen cooperation with Huawei in the construction of a smart Hechi," Wang said during the symposium.

He added that Hechi is very confident about developing its machine vision industry, and will include the industry into the government development plan. Special policies will be introduced, and industrial parks will be established to support the industry. He expressed hope that both sides can establish a strategic cooperation project team to jointly promote the high-quality development of a smart Hechi.
