June 20: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 23 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 12 in Guangdong province, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 489 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 3.
As of 24:00 on June 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,398 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,035 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 363 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on June 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,587 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,441 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 510 confirmed cases (including 18 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,047,938 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 16,348 were still under medical observation.
On June 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 9 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 19, 458 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 437 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 19, 25,834 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,885 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,612 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 53 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 13,896 in Taiwan (538 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
